This is an antique World War I military booklet, "The Army and the Navy of the United States of America. 1917; The Prudential Insurance Company of America; Newark, New Jersey. Nicely illustrated with 14 full-page drawings in color depicting the "various branches of Military and Naval life." From the Foreword: "...(the booklet) has been prepared with much care and a rigid respect for accuracy in detail and in statement and has been passed upon by both the War and Navy Departments of our government. It is hoped that these accuracies and these facts may prove of interest, and make us look with more pride upon a flag whose honor has been untainted since it first fluttered to the dawn, and the splendor of whose hues has everywhere been accepted as a covenant representing neither aggression nor conquest nor dominion."

Condition:
Soiling and small stains on the covers. Tight binding with no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Name/address written in pencil on the blank back-side of the frontispiece, on the inside of the back cover, and on the back cover; the back cover also has a name written in pen. The pages are lightly age-toned. Overall the booklet is in Good+ condition.
