Developed from Master's thesis and a dialogue between architects and historians, this study describes the different influences found in the construction techniques and architectural styles of the parrochial temples in the rural communities during the 19th century in the Central Valley of Costa Rica. Also includes the reaction of these communities on the basis of their faith and culture to these new institutions and the power/social relationships formed.
