Large format hardcover, illustrated boards with same art work reproduced on dust-jacket. 207 pages. Illustrated throughout with chiefly black and white drawings, albeit a fair amount of color work also represented. Index. Translated by Michael Farr. First edition. Covering the years 1907 to 1937 this first volume in a three-volume series introduces the reader to the art of Herge (nee Georges Remi) from his early child hood sketches, his work as an illustrator and graphic designer, advertisement commissions and his cartoon adventures, mostly significantly with the introduction of the iconic Tintin. No previous ownership marks. Book shows slight bump to spine approximately four inches up from bottom, visible more so on jacket than book. Else a clean, square, fresh and unmarked copy. Still very good in a very good dust-jacket. A large, oversize book, Priority and International orders will be charged actual postage. .
