London: Virtue & Co., 1859. First edition. Hardcover. Good. Various. New Series. Vol. V. Approx. 13'' by 10'', green cloth binding with gilt titles on spine & gilt decoration on front. Wear to spine and corners. Viii + 380pp illustrated with 35 engravings (25 from pictures and 10 from sculptures) and numerous other illustrations throughout text. Many artists work including Landseer, Van Eycken, Rubens, D. Wilkie, MacLise, Foley, Miller, Westmacott, Noble etc. The articles cover subjects such as architecture, book decoration, design, furniture, costume, sculpture, portraits, landscapes, classical, individual artists & movements, book reviews etc. Generally the inner book is in good condition, with some foxing. Ex reference library with a pictorial bookplate on front pastedown, no other obvious library markings. **Over 1kg & may require extra overseas postage**
