London: Virtue & Co., 1866. First edition. Hardcover. Fair. Various. New Series. Vol. V. Approx. 13'' by 10'', green cloth binding with gilt titles on spine & gilt decoration on front. Corners bumped & outer spine in poor condition with parts missing, sticker mark on spine. Viii + 384pp illustrated with 34 engravings, 24 from pictures (one is absent) and 10 of sculptures, numerous other illustrations throughout text. Many artists work including Rembrandt, Turner, Elmore, Webster, Gavin, Foley etc. The articles cover subjects such as architecture, design, furniture, costume, sculpture, portraits, landscapes, classical, individual artists & movements, book reviews etc. Generally the inner book is in very good condition, with some foxing. Ex reference library with a pictorial bookplate on front pastedown, no other library markings. **Over 1kg & may require extra overseas postage**
