Loose folded sheets, in pictorial lithographed wrappers. Twenty-six lithographic plates, some in three colors, and some in two colors. (With the wrappers, there are twenty-seven lithographic plates in all.). Folio (46 x 36 cm.). . A fine copy in plain board chemise, but lacking the slipcase.

Synopsis

The Ars amatoria is a poem in three books by the Roman poet Ovid. It claims to provide teaching in three areas of general preoccupation: how and where to find women (and husbands) in Rome, how to seduce them, and how to prevent others from stealing them.

Since some of our less expensive books are located in a temperature-controlled storage area offsite, you may want to call ahead of time to insure that the book you want to see will be available.
