New York: Harry N. Abrams, 1980. First edition and first printing. Oblong hardcover. 278 pages. A retrospective look at the early portion of Sendak's long career which includes his brilliant books "Where The Wild Things Are" and "In The Night Kitchen." Includes 261 illustrations with 94 color plates and an original Sendak pop-up which is in fine condition. Later editions of the book don't include the pop-up. A near fine copy with illustrated boards with a small gift inscription to the front free endpaper in a near fine printed glassine dust jacket that has some minor wear and light rubbing. This is a heavy and oversized book and will require extra shipping.
