Sharp grey cloth boards, crisp maroon cover and spine titles, fine. Cover depicts stylized titles at center surrounded by witch on broomstick and smirking cat; impish goblin at spine surrounded by stars. Pages fine; no writing. Illustrated endpapers in gold of Puss in Boots holding a rabbit with affirming king looking on. Includes an introduction by Arthur Rackham and illustrations. Eight color plates and fifty black & white illustrations throughout. Bind fine; hinges intact. Rare dust wrapper, fine; clipped, protected in new clear sleeve. Yellow wrapper front panel features Rackham color plate from Blue Beard by Perrault: "She took then the little key, and opened the door, trembling". A beautifully preserved bright volume in near fine original wrapper. From Rackham's preface: The illustrations are new and have never been published, though in the case of several stories this is not the first time that this has fallen to my lot to illustrate them in the thirty years that my work has led me through enchanted lands.
