Signed limited first edition, one of 1030 numbered copies signed by Rackham, of this collection of favorite illustrations by Rackham, chosen by him as a sort of informal memoir. The book is divided into six thematic sections: "Of the Little People," with fairies, elves, etc.; "Classic," with mythological subjects; "Some Fairy Tales," including Jack and the Beanstalk and Puss in Boots; "Some Children,"; "Grotesque," with monsters like the Leviathan and dragons; and "Various," a selection of beautiful images not easily categorized. Illustrated with 44 fantastically beautiful mounted color plates with lettered guards and several charming black and whites. An excellent copy. Quarto. 11.75'' x 9.25''. Original white gilt-stamped cloth. Top edge gilt. Illustrated by Rackham. Only light foxing. Spine slightly toned and light soil on edge of cover else clean and tight with no spotting.
