About This Item
no location: Arthur Raymond, 1986. No Binding. Fine. Fine; flawless. See scan. Arthur Raymond - Signed photograph and accompanying short ALS (autographed letter signed). Signed October, 1986; a gift to an American collector, the late Richard Carlow. 5 7/8" x 4" color photograph; ALS is 5 3/8" x 8 1/2", and is written on the back of the collector's original request letter. Photo is fine, without flaw; ALS has center vertical crease and was, of course, snipped by Raymond. See scans. Raymond's answer in that short ALS, "No, I didn't!" was in response to the collector's question, "...did you ever think that when (you) designed the DC-3 it would last so long !" which appears in the collector's hand on the reverse side of the ALS. Arthur Raymond led the design team for the legendary DC-3 (C-47, as a warcraft) of Douglas Aircraft Company, and managed the massive production numbers of that aircraft During World War II. He also was involved in the design of all Douglas airliners, from the DC-1 to the DC-8. Very scarce autograph. Provenance information to purchaser. Ships in a new, sturdy, protective box - not a bag.
