Levine, 1926-2009, was an American artist and illustrator. He studied at the Pratt Institute and served in the Army after World War II. Many of his paintings of garment workers were destroyed in a 1968 fire. He later became a political illustrator, and his caricatures often appeared in the New York Review of Books.
