About This Item
The Ashanti are a civilization in Ghana, West Africa. They have gold there. Early traders have known about it for 3000 years. Around 1900 the locals took control of their own resource, and it is now 25 percent of their export economy. The book gives a very comprehensive explanation of all aspects of gold, including old tribal ornamentation. The edition is not stated, nor is the date so I have presumed first edition. Professor Ayensu was the President of the Pan African Union for Science and Technology. The author has inscribed and signed.
