New York: The New American Library, 1967. First Edition (1967.) Hardcover with dust jacket. 8vo with 277 pages. Signed to Robert Schulberg, a cousin in year of publication, "For Bob-The North (Beverly Drive) will rise again! And you, God & Malcolm help you!-are the only True cousin I can depend on to make it happen. Love to you and Loraine always-Budd S (& Gerry) Dec. 7, 1967." Bookplate on front paste down reads, "Ex Libris The Schulbergs." In 1965, after the Watts Riots in Los Angeles, Schulberg formed the Watts Writers Workshop in an attempt to ease frustrations and bring artistic training to the economically impoverished district. The book is in very good condition. Interior is clean and tight. The dust jacket is in good condition with one 1/16" round stain on front panel and one 1/16" dent to front panel otherwise very good condition. Yellow spine/red black text. #031538. Signed. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo.
