The text is illustrated with numerous colour and black-and-white photographs and reproductions of illustrations. White coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper with brown and black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Covers ancient civilizations of western Asia, India, China, Korea, Japan, and the world of Islam ( which also includes Spain!!). Softening of the back strip edges and lower book edges. Age toning of the text block edges with previous owner's Chop to the lower right hand corner of the free front endpaper. A previous owner has removed the title page – please see photograph. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels with sunning to the panels. Some handling marks to the back strip. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. 400 pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
