Amsterdam, Holland: De Spieghel, 1948. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. The book is in nearfine condition with a dustjacket in good condition with some tears and chips. A survey of the finer colections of Asian Art in Holland & Belgium including the Stoclet and London collections. The majority of the text is a descriptve catalogue of technique, dating, provenanace, etc. & critical notes. The result is an excellent guide to Far Eastern & Indian Art. There are hundreds of reproductions many in full color. The 450 illustrations are grouped under the following classifications: Chinese bronze vessels; miscellaneous objects in bone, ivory, bronze, silver,and gold; Chinese bronze mirrors Chinese jade and glass; Chinese & Korean plastic arts; Chinese lacquers; Chinese rock-crystal; Chinese painting Chinese ceramics; Tibetan painting; Korean painting, etc. At 6 pounds, this book would be quite expensive to send to Europe & Canada. .
