Northampton, MA: Gehenna Press, [1967].. [31]pp. Oblong octavo. Gray-green fabriano over boards. Illustrations printed from the original blocks. This copy shows no evidence of having had a spine label, otherwise fine. First edition. With a concluding essay by Philip Hofer, then the owner of the original blocks, "On Bewick's Blocks." From an edition of 500 copies printed on Arches by Harold McGrath at the Gehenna Press, this is one of an unknown number of out of series, with the manuscript denotation 'printer's copy' in Leonard Baskin's hand in place of a number in the colophon. Additionally, it is inscribed and signed on the colophon by Baskin, utilizing initials: "S. & J. from L 1970." BROOK 53. BASKIN 53.
