New York: Aspen Magazine, 1965 - 1967. First printing. clamshell boxes. Very Good +. Andy Warhol. First 4 issues. In original cardboard decorated boxes. Most 12 1/4 x 9". All 4 collated as complete with the varied contents, poetry, photography, flexi-disc music, architecture, design and even the ads. The chapters are seperate booklets. Box #1 is near fine, # 2 (the white box) shows scuffs,VG. # 3 has minor scuffs is VG+, # 4 is VG+. All contents are fine and clean. No. 1 includes a booklet with digests of the speeches at the 15th annual International Design conference in Aspen. Also ski-roaming and jazz and a great ad booklet by IBM about their pavilion at the NY World's Fair in 1964 which was designed by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen. The booklet was designed by Paul Rand. No.2 is in a white box that shows scuffs. It includes 5 small booklets - Ski Racing, Farewell to a Canyon, Scriabin with a flexi-disc, the adaptable house, and young outs vs the establishment. No.3 is designed by Andy Warhol as a FAB box. The box has some small scuffs but still bright and colorful. Contents include a folder with article by Lou Reed and a flexi disc of the Velvet Underground, a folder of 12 pop art paintings with artists statements. "The Plastic Exploding Inevitable" a compilation of underground newspapers. A 2 sided underground movie flip book with "Kiss" by Warhol, and the 10 Trip Ticket book from the Berkeley Conference on LSD. Plus Ads. No.4 is the Marshall McCluhan issue designed by Quentin Fiore. Contents include posters a flexi disc of electronic music, a broadside by John Cage and a booklet on Bikers and motorcycle gangs by Danny Lyon
