About This Item
New Directions, 1985. First edition, first printing. Very close to fine and bright stiff wraps with crisp bright text. Affectionately inscribed by Hayden Carruth on the full title page. Hayden presented this book to the poet Janine Pommy Vega at a reading that Carruth and Bob Arnold gave at the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown. Janine ever a close reader has tipped down a few corners of top edges of favorite poems that she would share with others including her travels to schools and prisons. A fine association copy. Cover photo collage by Cynthia Day who was a partner with Hayden at the time of this publication
