It is inscribed "To Helen." 4to size softcover; 160 pages with black and white political cartoons throughout From back: "(Political cartoonist) Dan Wasserman is a favorite of newspaper readers, around the country for his droll, gimlet-eyed assessments of Washington's twists and turns, often expressed in his trademark four-panel drawings. This collection of several hundred Wasserman cartoons covers eight years of national and international politics, three presidents, two national elections and the beginning of a third, and broken campaign promises too numerous to count." Description:
New York: Frederick A. Stokes, 1925. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. Presentation copy, inscribed and dated in the year of publication by Wendell Endicott on the front flyleaf. An avid sportsman, Endicott (1880-1954) attended Harvard University (1899-1901) and served as a director of Sears, Roebuck and Company in Chicago during the 1920s and '30s. This book includes his reminiscences of battling the "Silver King" (Atlantic tarpon) and other game fish along the Florida Keys, as well as a selection of fishing facts and suggestions. Octavo: 273 p. with 80 illustrations from photographs by the author. Original dark green cloth-covered boards over a light green spine, with gilt stamping. Just a hint of foxing to the prefatory and concluding pages, with some faint evidence of moisture along the top edge of the last three dozen pages. Tiny period bookseller's label to the front flyleaf. The spine is a touch faded, with some rubbing to the corners and tips; else about very good.

Description:
Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1966. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First printing. With a non-authorial gift inscription dated 1967 on the FFEP ("Happy Birthday Arthur!"). Near fine book with minor wear to top and bottom of spine and very light foxing to upper face of text block. A very good, price-clipped jacket because of a slim band of foxing/curling to upper edge (most noticeable on flaps) and two short tears to upper left corner of front panel, the largest a half inch. The front and back panels are otherwise clean and present great. From collection of Arthur P. Morgan, a friend of McPhee, who worked in finance, was a fellow Deerfield Prep and Princeton University graduate, and then a neighbor. Among other civic activity, Morgan was on the board of the Princeton Public Library.
