About This Item
New York; (1961): Random House. Octavo. 429pp., All the stories were written in the 1960's. The author calls this work "some of the most joyful writing I have ever done. The pleasure was n finding that after eleven years of not writing short stories I could begin again and do it better; and the joy was in discovering that at fifty-five, and in spite of aches in spine and tendons, I had an apparently inexhaustible urge to express an unlimited supply of short story ideas". Bound in white linen lettered n gilt, spine lettering gilt over red, a near fine copy in near fine unclipped dust jacket lettered in black and red , with just a sprinkling o droplets to spine and some toning.
