London: Macmillan and Co., 1877. First edition. Hardcover. Fair. 21 x 15 cm. Octavo. xvi 431pp. Many illustrations, frontispiece, engravings, diagrams. Folding "Chart of the Constellations" opposite page 1 in nice condition without tears. Bound into blue cloth with gilt lettering and design. Vertical tear to rear hinge which has been reinforced intenally. Scattered pencil underlining. Boards are cocked. A complete, "binding copy" which is quite worn. Based on Camille Flammarion's work, but not a direct translation. OCLC #: 2849196.
