Oxford: Blackwell Scientific Publications (1949)., 1949. First printing. 4to. viii, 150 pp. 188 figs. Original blue cloth binding. Trueta (1897-1977) was born and trained in Spain (Catalan), then gained experience in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), considered the prelude to WWII. Truetta is particularly known for his contributions regarding rx of war injuries (GM 4435.1, 5632), osteomyelitis, and circulation of bone (fx healing, arthritis, Perthes) and kidney (related to crush syndrome; GM 1245). His methods for fracture care were widely used in WWII. Spine faded, top fore edge corner bumped, very good. An uncommon title.. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine.
