Hardcover, no dustjacket, ex-library copy with library stamps on the blank front end-papers, card pocket on the inside of the front cover, and catalog number written on spine, the contents are in great shape and the binding is tight and square, the green cloth cover has a stain on the front and mild edge-wear at the spine-ends, 249 pages + a folding map and 10 pages of publisher's ads, also includes a portrait of John Woodhouse Audubon who was the son of the infamous naturalist and original drawings, a biographical memoir by his daughter Maria and an Introduction, Notes and Index by Frank Heywood Hodder .
