Copyright page has stamp indicating this was one of the two copies submitted for copyright purposes in December 1907. On the front wrapper is a LoC release stamp indicating their de-acquisition of this duplicate copy. Slip tipped-in at rear indicates transition to cataloguing division and consequent release. This work on auras and colors and their metaphysical significance includes Psychology of Auric and Color Formations; How to See and Feel Auras; Photosphere and Atmosphere of Spirit; Color Alchemization; The Dictionary of Colors -- Their Spiritual Meanings. Jesse Charles Fremont Grumbine (1861-1938) was an American Spiritualist, organiser of the Order of the White Rose, and author of several books related to his occult teachings. Feeling constrained by the dogma of conventional religions, Grumbine turned to spiritualism and the occult. He called his organization The Order of the White Rose, which he described as a branch of the Rosicrucians, who received guidance from beyond the grave from the late poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
