Paul Hamlyn, Sydney, 1975. First Edition. Hardcover (Cloth backed boards). Very Good Condition/Very Good. Illustrator: photographic. Preface by authors, index of popular names and index of botanical names stop bottle green coloured end pages. The text is illustrated with over 1660 coloured plates of flowering plants. White coloured boards with green coloured titles to the front panel and the back strip. Colour photographic dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The book was written back in the days when kiwifruit were known as Chinese gooseberries. The book is not a book of Australian plants, but rather a book of flowering plants that do grow in Australia. Rubbing of the top book corners and lower book edges. Softening of the back strip with age toning of the text block edges. A few marks to the end pages. Some creasing of the top dustwrapper edge with a little chipping to the back strip edges. Sunning of the back strip. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. 512 pages, indexed, by popular name, and by botanical names. There are 1659 colour photographs. Original hardcover binding slightly foxed at the bottom of the front and rear panels, and there is foxing to the underside of the dustjacket which has an extended top and bottom flap fold over. There is a short cut on the spine section of the dustjacket approximately 1 inch long through the word "Australian", and a short split at the top of the right-hand side of the front panel.
