About This Item

Investigator Press, South Australia - first edition 1980 hardcover, 9 3/4" x 7 1/4", with dust jacket Top right corner bumped but this is a VERY GOOD book in VERY GOOD unclipped dust jacket Dark-blue cloth bound boards with gold type to spine and front, dark-blue endpapers, photographic frontis (Roseworthy College, 1908-9), 74 b&w photographs, 18 b&w drawings, 7 appendices, and index. The marked improvement in the quality of Australian wines, this book says, is due in no small way to the role played in the production of wine by Oenologists trained at Roseworthy College, where A R Hickinbotham developed and directed the course. 'Hick' was a 'seeker of truth' and a most exact and precise man of science. This book pays tribute to the man and the College.
