Twelfth edition. lxiv, 518pp, 86 maps and plans and 2 panoramas, writing in red biro on endpapers, bookseller's label on endpapers; publisher's variant red cloth gilt, gilt lettering dull as usual, original pictorial dust-wrapper, slightly torn and worn in parts; a very good copy.
Last English edition of this title. The Austro-Hungarian Empire had disintegrated after World War I and this volume covers a much smaller area than previous editions. Parts of Hungary and Czechoslovakia are still included.
