J. R. Smith, 1848. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1848. No Edition Remarks. 96 pages. No dust jacket. Signed by the author. Black embossed cloth with gilt lettering. Contains black and white illustrated frontispiece. Pages are rough cut. Dedicated to former owner with the author's compliments. Front endpapers are almost detached. Pages are moderately tanned with notable foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Moderate cracking to hinges, with exposed netting. Binding is fairly loose. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Pencil inscription and rub marks to front paste-down and free endpaper, with a few small nicks along text block edge. Gutters are slightly crinkled. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with notable bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Moderate tanning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends.
