From Gothenburg to Lapland and Finland, up the heart of Sweden, and back south again along the shores of the Baltic; through remote villages and by busy little market towns; amid the solemnity of the vast pine forests or the majesty of the mountains, the travellers saw Sweden as it has seldom or never been seen by British visitors before, and they were welcomed and made to feel at home by every Swede they met-except, of course, the policeman of Boden !
