Octavo. pp 137, [1] blank, [1] adverts. Frontispiece portrait photograph. No. 26 in the series The International Psycho-Analytical Library. Authorized translation by James Strachey. Publisher's green boards with gilt lettering to the spine. Foxing to the early/late pages of the book and toning to the page block otherwise VG indeed in a VG D/W priced 6s. net to the spine (as called for). The all-green D/W is darkened to the spine and lightly chipped to the spine ends (not affecting any lettering). The affect of the chipping has been lessened by the laying behind of coloured paper that closely matches the colouration of the spine. An Autobiographical Study lays emphasis on Freud’s professional rather than personal life. It is a record of his accomplishments in the history of psychoanalysis Rare in D/W. Photographs/scans available upon request.
