Originally published in 1840: this facsimile edition, is copyright 1972. It was written in exile in the young United States republic, and was posthumously edited by William Drummond. It is a lively, personal narrative, revealing the serious but frivolous life of a political Irishman of property in the 18th and early 19th centuries. Introduction by R. B. McDowell.
