Durham, NC: The Seeman Printery, 1910. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good. 8vo. 139 pages. Hardcover bound in green cloth. The binding shows moderate wear and has some pale spotting to the cloth. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Some silverfishing to the rear pastedown Inscribed on the front pastedown, "R. G. Cherry, Secretary (or 'Sec & Tres'?) / Trinity College / Historical Society / Durham NC 1912." R. Gregg Cherry (1891-1957) was the 61st Governor of North Carolina (1945-1949) during WWII. He was a lawyer and had been the mayor of Gastonia and had earned his Bachelor's degree in law from Trinity College, now Duke University. Brantley York (1805-1891) was the Methodist minister who founded the institution which would become Trinity College and Duke. Curiously, this volume was signed by the future Governor of N.C. who was born the same year that Rev. York died.
