Jonathan Cape, 1949. Hardcover. Good. 1949. Reprinted. 318 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth boards with black lettering to spine. Preface by G. Bernard Shaw. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as inscriptions, mild crinkling and mild tanning. Boards have mild edge wear with light rubbing and crushing. Some light marking and tanning causing discolouration. There is bumping to corners. Boards are bowed. Book has a slight forward lean.
Synopsis
A popular yet idiosyncratic poet, W. H. DAVIES (1871-1940) first came to notice through his self-published volume, The Soul's Destroyer . He was the author of several works of autobiography including Beggars, A Poet’s Pilgrimage , and the posthumously published account of his marriage, Young Emma .
