Boston: The Riverside Press, for Houghton Mifflin and Company, 1889. Hardcover. Good. 16mo 6" - 7" tall. Sturdy, still moderately attractive, tightly bound, internally clean hardcover copies, complete in two volumes. Bound in rubbed brown marbled paper over boards, pebbly leather over tips and spine. Five raised bands to each spine, rubbed gilt lettering, rubbing to, scuffing of tips, edges, spine head, foot, chip missing to spine bottom of one volume. Not ex-library, with neither highlighting nor underlining. Marbled endpapers are quite fine. Author's Preface notes the backdrop of the work's first completion in 1857 and publication the following year. x, 1-203 pp.; frontis matter [1], 206-442 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
