Whittinghame, 13 December 1895. 2 pp. 7 x 4 inches, in good condition, some lightness of ink completing the signature. Alice Blanche Balfour (1850-1936), Scottish entomologist, naturalist, scientific illustrator and one of the earliest pioneers in the science of genetics. Her brother, Arthur Balfour, became Prime Minister. In 1895 she published the book Twelve Hundred miles in a Waggon.
