9 Gordon Place, Campden Hill, Kensington, 23 June, no year given. 1 page 6 x 4½ inches, in good condition, traces of former mounting. John Ballantyne (d.1897) set himself up as a portrait and historical genre painter in Edinburgh at the end of the 1830s, moving to London in 1863.
