1899. unbound. very good. Excellent content A.L.S. 8vo. 1 page, Pall Mall, 1899. Forwarding research papers from his days as a serious scholar of Anthropology, in full: "I send you a copy of the reprint of the paper on "The Secret Tribal Societies of West Africa" that I read on May 5th before Lodge Quantico Committee - at an unscheduled meeting. I have obliterated certain passages bearing on rather Masonic matters." Marriott, a 32nd Degree Mason, made his presentation before a Masonic Lodge as opposed to the Royal Society for the sole purpose of securing grant money for his further research studies. Boldly signed and in very good condition.<br/> <br/> British anthropologist and early science fiction writer who created The Iron Detective, a comedy of the near future (1908) describing the invention of a robot detective capable of telepathy.<br/> <br/>
