12 St. Jamess Place, 11 April 1866. 4 pp. 8vo. In good condition. Alexander Kinglake (1809-1891), historian, author of The Invasion of the Crimea. Kinglake was M.P. for Bridgewater from 1857 to 1868. I cannot think of any channel through which I could help Mr Rudolph to attain his objects; for, although I could of course ask Layard, the under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to do what you wish, I gather from what you say that the official channel would be barred ...
