Rouen_Fontaine de la Grosse horloge." Written in ink at lower edge of image: "Rouen, August 25/89." Written in pencil next to photograph on mount: "Printed by the house of T. Herlyison." The fountain was designed by Jean-Pierre Defrance and built next to the famous Gros Horloge in 1743; the bas relief depicts the mythological scene of the river Alpheus and the nymph Arethusa, and Cupid flying above them.
