"The Adventures of Telemachus" is a famous French novel by Fenelon; a story that was intended to be a supplement to Homer's 'Odyssey' following the travels of Telemachus, son of Ulysses. It was highly controversial upon its release, as the majority of French readership took Fenelon's story as a critical and satirical portrayal of Louis XIV.
In 1828, Italian illustrator Bartolomeo Pinelli created impressive artwork for the famed story; however, unlike similar collections of story art from the 19th-century, this absolutely enormous volume contains 100 elephant-folio illustrations of Pinelli's art of 'Telemachus'. A truly remarkable tome!
