A short celebration of the achievements of humankind during the 19th century, with some optimistic predictions for the 20th, including universal peace and the triumph of Christianity over poverty and darkness. 65pp. The pages have art Nouveau decorated borders, alternating in red and black and the title page has a red and black design. Top edges tinted red. Title written by hand to spine. Foxing present and a great deal of pencil annotations, including a hand-written index to the rear. DJ worn and marked, with tear down edge of spine, otherwise fair reading copy..
