New York: Random House, 1938. Hardcover. Translation by Merle Haas. 4to. Tan cloth spine and red pictorial paper over boards. (38pp). Numerous color illustrations, pictorial endpapers. Very good. Mild edgewear. A tight and attractive early but not first printing of the first Babar title published after the author/illustrator's early death from tuberculosis at age 38.
