New York/Akron/Chigaco: Saalfield, 1904 Entire book is limp cloth, printed in full color. One of Saalfield's 'Muslin Books "ever wear -- never tear"'. Be that as it may, one section torn open, affecting the margin of one image, some corner curling & creasing, edges a bit frayed, some foxing and staining; most of the interior is pretty nice. Stereotyped verse dittys about children of the world at work and at play, including a Chinese lad, a sailor boy, the circus, 'Fat Dutch Peter', 'Sturdy Russian Ludaminsky', Scots laddies with pipe & kilt, 'barefoot newsie Dan', a wee Japanese Maid, Cousin Paul the footballer, dancing Piccaninny Sambo, Quaker kids, soldier boys marching, Eskimos, and Wapakoneta the Indian brave. Vigorous full color illustrations on each page.. Cloth. Fair. 7¾" by 8½".
