About This Item

Royal octavo (9 3/4" x 7") bound in original publisher's quarter black cloth with gilt lettering to spine in original jacket. Second edition. This book is divided into three main parts: Palaentological, Stratigraphical and Archaeological Considerations. A number of the papers appear in French, preceded by abstracts in English, and the English papers are accompanied by abstracts in French, thus making a body of important material available to a greatly enlarged audience. The volume is basic reading for anyone interested in the reconstruction of later Cainozoic environments or the paleo-anthropology and mammalian palaeontology of the African continent. Condition: Previous owner's stamp on front end paper and head end pages, corners lightly rubbed, some check marks on content pages. Jacket heavily damaged with large losses to back and front covers else a very good copy in a good jacket.
