On Apr 9 2020, a reader said:
When I purchased this book new in 2000, Elmer Kelton was the only living author I bought. No one else's work was what I liked to read. And as per usual Elmer Kelton came through with a wonderful story of love, devotion, and bravery, as Rusty Shannon rescues Badger Boy from the Indians. That rekindles his memory of the time he was held captive himself. A very good book.
