This book is a pictorial and descriptive history of landmark hom es and other structures in Carthage. Illustrated with 34 full-page drawings . 12th in a series on homes and other structures of historical significance in various Illinois towns. Each page of the book is hand silk screen print ed. #29 of a limited edition of 200 copies. Also comes with a copy of a new paper article originally published on December 9, 1984 that tells about Dav id Alan Badger and his work as an artist and provides information about his ongoing project of documenting historical landmarks mainly around Illinois . Badger was planning to produce more than 180 limited edition books docume nting the architecture and history of communities in every county in Illino is. Each book contains 35 to 40 of Badger's drawings of homes, business and public buildings in the community. Buildings he documents have been chosen for their aesthetic appeal and for their historic significance. Each book also contains a brief narrative about the buildings. Also included within t he books are poetry by Badger. According to the article, ""Badger hoped his books would serve as a reference & resource for future scholars, as some of the buildings have already been destroyed."". Limited Ed.
