About This Item
London: Philip Wilson. 1992. Quarto, original cloth boards, colour and b&w plates, pp 128. Believed to be the limited edition of 1500 copies: this copy lacks the rear free endpaper and limitation page, and consequently the inner hinge has detached from the spine internally. Otherwise a good clean copy. The panel paintings of The Sleeping Beauty, by Leon Bakst, were commissioned by James de Rothschild in 1913. The work was completed in 1923 and adorned the walls of 34 Park Street in London and subsequently, in 1930, of 23 St James's Place. The paintings are now at Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire.
