About This Item

[Seattle:] The Windowpane Press, 2014 No limitation given, probably one of about a hundred copies. Designed and produced in a class taught by Bonnie Thompson Norman in collaboration with Dawn Hobson, Margaret Johnson, Ben Melhuish, and Caroline Williams. . Printed in black and red on white paper panels, which are mounted on black board. Hand-drawn accents in red. Each of the six panels forming the cube is printed on both sides with quotes about democracy and facts about voting rights. A fine copy. This artist's book transforms into a three-dimensional "ballot box" printed with text that aims to inform readers about voting rights and how to vote, along with quotes about democracy. Ballot Box is one of Bonnie Thompson Norman's many books that blend activism with artistry. Books like Which Side Are You On? (2019), A Primer for Democracy (2004), and Fourteen Ninety-Two or Three (1993) all address concepts of activism, equality, and social justice.

About Michael R. Thompson, Booksellers, ABAA/ILAB

Our office is located in Los Angeles on West Third Street, between the Beverly Center and Farmer's Market. Though we gave up an open shop after more than thirty years, we welcome serious customers and dealers. We are normally open from 10 to 6 Monday through Saturday. Since some of our less expensive books are located in a temperature-controlled storage area offsite, you may want to call ahead of time to insure that the book you want to see will be available. We feature a stock strong in literature, history, Western philosophy, women's studies, education, history of science and fine printing and artists' books. We are members of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. We have books from the 15th to the 20th century in all prices ranges. We do appraisals for income tax and insurance purposes. We purchase individual books and libraries. Proprietor: Carol Sandberg
