About This Item

Berkeley, CA: Friends of the Bancroft Library. Very Good-. 0. 1st Printing. Booklet. This is small, thin booklet made up of one sheet of handmade paper that has been folded 4 times to make 8 pages. The booklet is in Very Good- condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The booklet has a dual use of teaching about the Bancroft Library in general, and also includes a short list of upcoming books relating to Californiana. The text pages are generally clean and bright, but has one inked notation ("trade edition") and a couple of lightly penciled notations. "The Bancroft Library is located on the east side of Doe Library, just northwest of the Campanile. First housed in the attic of California Hall, The Bancroft moved into its present quarters in 1950. At the same time, the original scope of the library was enlarged to include a number of other “special collections, ” including the former Rare Books Collection. The Bancroft Library now includes the Mark Twain Papers and Project, the Oral History Center, the University of California Archives, the History of Science and Technology Program, and the Pictorial Collection. For more information about visiting, parking, and research see our library guide." (from Wikipedia) .
