Bruccoli A 12.1. Ross Macdonald is widely considered to be one of the three most important American mystery authors. He is praised for his contributions to the genre of detective fiction, namely for the sophistication and linguistic style he brought to the literature. A beautiful copy of an early Lew Archer novel. A Near Fine book with a touch of rubbing to the bottom edges of the boards and a minute lean; jacket is Near Fine with a bit of toning to the bottom of the rear panel.

Synopsis

Ross Macdonald's real name was Kenneth Millar. Born near San Francisco in 1915 and raised in Ontario, Millar returned to the U.S. as a young man and published his first novel in 1944. He served as the president of the Mystery Writers of America and was awarded their Grand Master Award as well as the Mystery Writers of Great Britain's Gold Dagger Award. He died in 1983.
